License Coordination
The Campus Office of Software Licensing (COSL) coordinates site licenses and volume purchases of specialized software to provide discounted pricing. Volume licenses are negotiated either independently within our office or in coordination with other UC campuses via the UC-Technology Acquisition Support (TAS) group. COSL does not provide procurement services for single purchases of specialized software titles; COSL handles software purchase agreements only if they reach a scale by which significant volume discounts are available. Lending Library
The COSL media lending library which provided media for users to borrow has been replaced with a download site for users who have valid licenses. Standard software titles purchased through COSL, as well as the Gateway e-procurement system, are now available as a download. An order number for the license purchase is required in order to receive a link to download the media.
Software Purchasing information
Software Depot online software order management system was provided by the Campus Office of Software Licensing, until February 1, 2013. Software Depot is no longer available for placing software orders.

Software Depot Historical Information
The Software Depot order management system allowed for the purchase of many common software titles at academic discounts. The products offered through the Software Depot were coordinated through a single reseller, under an agreement negotiated by the UC-TAS group. Through collective volume across the UC, software was deeply discounted from off-the-shelf prices, for most standard software titles.
